Mendoza number one in Mexican LNBP for round 22 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Shooting guard Rigoberto Mendoza (191-SG-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Astros de Jalisco, receiving a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Diablos (#5, 14-8) 89-80. It allowed Astros to take over top position in the Mexican LNBP. Astros has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 20-2. In the team's last game Mendoza had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Rigoberto Mendoza averages this season 11.2ppg and 6.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American power forward J.J. Avila (203-PF-1991) of El Calor de Cancun. Avila had a very good evening with 23 points and 7 rebounds. It was enough for El Calor to edge the higher-ranked Dorados (#6, 12-9) 92-90. This victory allowed El Calor to move up to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-12 record. Avila is a newcomer at El Calor, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Dominican Rep. forward Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) of Santos de San Luis Potosi (#14). Ferreiras scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). Despite Ferreiras' great performance the Santos lost 85-87 to the higher-ranked Correcaminos (#10, 9-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Santos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-19 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Ferreiras has a very solid season. In 8 games in Mexico he scored 11.3ppg.

10. Serigne Barro (208-C-1995) of Panteras - 16 points and 11 rebounds
