Argentinian Joaquin Valinotti (185-PG-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Mineros de Zacatecas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 27-year old playmaker had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Mineros in his team's victory, helping them to beat Abejas (#12, 4-18) 69-64. Mineros maintains the 3rd position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mineros will need more victories to improve their 16-6 record. In the team's last game Valinotti had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Valinotti has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (9th best: 4.4apg) and averages solid 52.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Brandon Boyd (180-PG-1997) of Freseros Irapuato. Boyd impressed basketball fans with 41 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Freseras cruised to a 94-84 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Halc.Xalapa (#8, 10-12). Freseros' 13th position in the standings has not changed. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Freseras managed to get this year. Boyd is a newcomer at Freseros and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#1). He also recorded 4.6 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Jaire Grayer (196-G-1996) of Santos de San Luis Potosi (#14). Grayer showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Santos, leading his team to a 86-83 win against the higher-ranked Correcaminos (#10, 9-13). Santos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-19 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Grayer has a very solid season. In 15 games in Mexico he scored 12.9ppg.
