It was a good game for Argentinian-Italian point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (181-1986) answered with 14 points and 4 assists and Argentinian swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for El Calor.
