Astros - Halc.Xalapa 93-71

Astros shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 63.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-1990, college: Ohio) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Chavaughn Lewis (195-1993, college: Marist) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Astros players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Bibbs (196-1996, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 15 points and the former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Dorados and four Diablos players scored in double figures. Diablos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Argentinian point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-1998) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) scored 17 points. Five Fuerza Regia and four Mineros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

The other American import Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Soles' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-1995) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Terrell Brown (185-1998, college: NM State) added 23 points in the effort for Panteras. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
