Simon number one in Mexican LBE for round 4

Dominican Rep. Forward Miguel Simon (203-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for Gaiteros de Zulia, receiving a Hoops Agents LBE Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Indios (#3, 3-4) with 18-point margin 102-84. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Gaiteros maintains the 4th position in Mexican LBE. Gaiteros is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. Simon just recently signed at Gaiteros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former ASA College Brooklyn star has very solid stats this year. Simon is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.1rpg) and averages impressive 54.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Hal Heyward (200-F-1992) of Mineros de Parral. Heyward had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Mineros lost that game 97-108 to league's leader Dorados (#1, 9-0). Despite lost game Mineros moved up to 5th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Mineros managed to get this year. Heyward is one of the most experienced players at Mineros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#8). He also registered 8.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jimond Ivey (196-G-1996) of league's second-best Apaches de Chihuahua. Ivey got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of Apaches, leading his team to a 98-84 easy win against #4 ranked Soles in a game of the week. Apaches needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Ivey has a great season in Mexico. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (6th best) and assists with 4.3apg (5th best).
