Buggs number one in Mexico CIBACOPA for round 10

American Guard Drew Buggs (190-G-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Zonkeys de Tijuana, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, four rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Mazatlan (#11, 4-10) 91-88. Tijuana Zonkeys is placed at 2nd position in Mexican CIBACOPA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tijuana will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game Buggs had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Tijuana Zonkeys, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Drew Buggs averages this season 12.0ppg and 4.4apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Romeao Ferguson (196-G-1997) of Rayos de Hermosillo. Ferguson had a very good evening with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Rayos de Hermosillo to edge the higher-ranked Obregon (#1, 9-5) 90-89. This victory allowed Hermosillo to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ferguson is one of the most experienced players at Hermosillo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Tony Farmer (201-F-1994) of league's top team Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Farmer scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Farmer's great performance the Halcones de Ciudad Obregon lost 86-87 to the lower-ranked Hermosillo (#7, 6-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Obregon needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Farmer has a great season in Mexico. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 7.0rpg (8th best).
