Apaches outrebounded Dorados 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Dorados helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-1993, college: Memphis) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Apaches players scored in double figures. International guard Ivan Montano (180-1998) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) scored 25 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
