Apaches nipped Dorados in the fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. Apaches looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Dorados helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) stepped up and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Raul Delgado (190-1991, college: MSU Denver) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
