Hughes III number one in Mexico CIBACOPA for round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Johnny Hughes III (201-F-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for Caballeros de Culiacan, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 16 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Obregon (#2, 16-6) 137-143. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains the 10th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 19 games and recorded just seven victories. In the team's last game Hughes III had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Caballeros de Culiacan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Johnny Hughes III averages this season 12.3ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Culiacan's star - young American Tre McCallum (201-F-1995, agency: MSG). McCallum had a very good evening with 34 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Caballeros de Culiacan lost that game 137-143 to the higher-ranked Obregon (#2, 16-6). Caballeros de Culiacan is still in a red zone at 10th spot in the standings. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just seven victories Culiacan managed to get this year. McCallum is one of the most experienced players at Caballeros de Culiacan and similarly like Johnny Hughes III has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Nigerian forward Chuba Ohams (206-F-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) of Angeles de Ciudad de Mexico (#5). Ohams scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Ohams' great performance the Angeles lost 108-109 to slightly lower-ranked Guaymas (#7, 10-12). They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 12 lost games. Ohams has a great season in Mexico. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (#1 in league).
