Tony Farmer (201-F-1994, college: Lee JC) and Justin Moss (203-F/C-1993, college: Buffalo) were unstoppable, each scoring 26 points. Farmer added nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, while Moss registered a double-double with 13 rebounds. Josh Perkins (191-G-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) contributed 19 points and Jahvari Josiah completed the dominant frontcourt effort with 13 points and 10 rebounds a second double-double for the Halcones. Angeles won the first quarter and kept the contest tight, but Obregon adjusted and took a 45-41 halftime lead. The third quarter was decisive or so it seemed. The Halcones stretched their advantage to 13 points and led 73-60 heading into the fourth. Then Angeles made their move. Terrell Brown (185-G-1998, college: NM State) drilled a three-pointer with 5:16 remaining that cut the deficit to just 81-83, sending the La Paz crowd into a frenzy. But Obregon's championship composure surfaced when it mattered most the Halcones tightened defensively and responded with a decisive scoring burst to pull away for the 104-94 final. Trahson Burrell (201-F/G-1992, college: Memphis) led Angeles with 29 points and Chuba Ohams (206-F-1997, college: Fordham, agency: Octagon Europe) added 22, but the Mexico City side could not sustain their fourth-quarter surge long enough to complete the comeback. The CIBACUP triumph gives Obregon their second trophy of 2026 after winning the Copa Salsa Huichol during the preseason, establishing the Halcones as the team to beat as the CIBACOPA regular season resumes on April 21. |
