Best players of Mexican CIBACOPA round 26 (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American Torren Jones (206-F/C-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Caballeros de Culiacan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 31-year old power forward had a double-double of 22 points and 21 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Guaymas (#10, 16-24) 96-106. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains the 7th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. Culiacan is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 22th lost game this season out of 40 games. Jones just recently signed at Caballeros de Culiacan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. William Penn University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 59.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Amir Spears (190-PG-2001) of Ostioneros de Guaymas. Spears impressed basketball fans with 35 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Ostioneros de Guaymas cruised to a 106-96 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Culiacan (#7, 18-22). Guaymas' 10th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 16-24 record. Spears is one of the most experienced players at Guaymas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jeff Ledbetter (191-G-1988, agency: Slash Sports) of Venados de Mazatlan (#11). Ledbetter showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Ledbetter's great performance the Venados lost 103-106 to the higher-ranked Los Mochis (#8, 18-22). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Mazatlan can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 9-31 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Ledbetter has a very solid season. In 10 games in Mexico he scored 16.6ppg. He also has 5.9apg and and 3PT: 41.6%.
