Chinandega - Leones 90-89 Bottom-ranked Chinandega managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged fifth-ranked Leones 90-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leones. Chinandega players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Marcus Faison (196-94, college: Salem St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 21 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-92) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Leones. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Chinandega maintains ninth place with 4-14 record. Leones at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Costa Caribe. Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) produced 27 points, 6 assists and 6 steals and Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-94) added 10 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for lost side.
