Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

An interesting game for Real Esteli (19-3) which hosted in Esteli second-best Leon (14-9). First ranked Real Esteli managed to get a 8-point victory 79-71. Real Esteli made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Leon turnovers. It was a good game for the former international point guard Vansdell Thomas (185-86) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-92) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Real Esteli's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican Miguel Almonte replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for Leon. Real Esteli have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-3 record. Leon at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost.
The game between second ranked Leon (14-9) and 8th ranked Chinandega (6-17) in ended with biggest points difference. Leon outscored guests from 114-55. Worth to mention a quality performance of Guyanese-American power forward Anthony Moe (207-90, college: Millersville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds and Chris Blake who added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Kelvin Espinoza with 8 points and 12 rebounds. Leon maintains second position with 14-9 record having four points less than leader Real Esteli. Chinandega lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 17 games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 24: Rivas were beaten by Leones on the road 78-62. Indigenas destroyed Chinandega on its own court 112-65. Leones managed to outperform Bufalos in Managua 80-65.
The most impressive performance of 24th round was 22 points and 12 rebounds by Eliezer Lima of Bufalos.



Leones - Rivas 78-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Leones' (12-10) home victory over 7th ranked Rivas (9-13) in Managua 78-62. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-92) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard BJ Glasford (193-95, college: Stetson, agency: Green Sports Management) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leones moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Costa Caribe. Rivas at the other side keep the seventh position with 13 games lost.

Very expected game when 8th ranked Chinandega (6-17) was smashed by third ranked Indigenas (13-9) in Matagalpa 112-65. Indigenas forced 22 Chinandega turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Chinandega's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban Lisvan Valdez (196-88) who helped to win the game recording 45 points (!!!) and 4 assists and American forward Justin Patton (201-89, college: N.Texas) who added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. Four Indigenas players scored in double figures. Indigenas' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and center Mauricio Lopez scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Indigenas maintains third position with 13-9 record having six points less than leader Real Esteli. Chinandega lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 17 games lost.

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Leones (12-10) won against on the road bottom-ranked Bufalos (3-19) 80-65. Leones forced 19 Bufalos turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-91) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-92) who added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Leones' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Cuban power forward Eliezer Lima (202-75) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Daniel Cardoza (175) scored 15 points.
