LSB Round 2: Leones MGA lose to Real Esteli

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LSB. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Leones MGA in Managua on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Real Esteli 88-80. Real Esteli forced 21 Leones MGA turnovers and had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Leones MGA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Glen Rice Jr. (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Cuban Lisvan Valdez (196-88) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) produced 28 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Esteli are looking forward to face Rivas in the next round. Leones MGA will have a break next round.
The game in Matagalpa was also worth to mention about. Leon played at the court of Indigenas. Leon managed to secure a 8-point victory 78-70. Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Yuniskel Molina contributed with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican point guard Christian Lopez (183-95) replied with 32 points for Indigenas. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

The game with biggest result difference took place in . Local Rivas beat Cacique D. 65-48 on Tuesday night. Rivas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cacique D.'s 18. Rivas forced 20 Cacique D. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Cacique D.'s players. American center BJ Glasford (196-95, college: Stetson, agency: Green Sports Management) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American center Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rivas will meet Real Esteli on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
