Coimbra number one in Nicaragua for round 4 (by Hoops Agents)

Brazilian Center Andre Coimbra (205-C-86) had a great game in the last round for Leones MGA, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 35-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Leon (#5, 1-1) 70-69. Leones MGA is placed at 4th position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Leones MGA will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Coimbra turned to be Leones MGA's top player in his first season with the team. Former Central Michigan University star has very solid stats this year. Coimbra is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 11.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 51.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Dominican Rep. Xavier de la Rosa (196-F-91) of Cacique D.. de la Rosa had a very good evening with 29 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Cacique D. to another comfortable win outscoring Tigres (#9, 0-3) 106-74. Cacique D.'s 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. de la Rosa is a newcomer at Cacique D., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#5). He also registered 5.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Leones MGA's star - American forward Chris Blake (195-F-88). Blake scored 24 points. He was another key player of Leones MGA, helping his team with a 70-69 win against slightly lower-ranked Leon (#5, 1-1). Leones MGA needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Blake has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.0ppg (2nd best).
