Puerto Rican Christian Lopez (183-PG-95) had a great game in the last round for Indigenas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 26-year old playmaker got a double-double of 50 points and eleven assists, while his team lost the game against Ingenieria (#4, 4-2) 99-104. Indigenas maintains the 8th position in Nicaraguan LSB. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 5 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Indigenas' top player in his first season with the team. Ingenieria's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Oliva is a newcomer at Ingenieria and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.5ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 8.8rpg and 5.5apg.
The third best performed player last round was Jeremy Agosto (F) of second-ranked Cacique D.. Agosto got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and ten assists. He was a key player of Cacique D., leading his team to a 92-91 win against #3 ranked Real Esteli in a game of the week. Cacique D. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
