Taylor's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- September 4, 2021
He had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Rivas (#7, 3-3) 96-92. Ingenieria maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Ingenieria will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Taylor turned to be Ingenieria's top player in his first season with the team. Taylor has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 10.2rpg) and averages solid 60.8% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Christian Lopez (183-PG-95) of Indigenas. He is Puerto Rican guard in his first season at Indigenas. In the last game Lopez recorded impressive 33 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Indigenas to another comfortable win 92-76 over Tigres (#9, 0-6) being unquestionably team leader. Indigenas' 8th position in the standings has not changed. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Indigenas managed to get this year. Lopez is a newcomer at Indigenas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 32.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 5.7apg. Third place about best performers goes to guard Jose Ortiz (SG) of Tigres (#9). Ortiz got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Ortiz's great performance Tigres lost 76-92 to slightly higher-ranked Indigenas (#8, 1-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tigres can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. Ortiz has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.8ppg (3rd best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
