Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 12- September 7, 2021
The 38-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Real Esteli (#5, 4-3) with 22-point margin 82-60. Ingenieria is placed at 3rd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Ingenieria will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Taylor turned to be Ingenieria's top player in his first season with the team. Rudy Taylor averages this season 16.8ppg and 10.2rpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old American power forward Quincy Scates (198-PF-89) of Tigres. Scates impressed basketball fans with 34 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Tigres lost that game 87-93 to the higher-ranked Leones MGA (#1, 5-2). Tigres are still at the very bottom. 7 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Scates is a newcomer at Tigres and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was another Ingenieria's star - Ronald Lawton (F). Lawton scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was another key player of Ingenieria, helping his team with a 82-60 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Real Esteli (#5, 4-3). Ingenieria needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Lawton has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Jose Ortiz (SG) of Tigres - 25 points and 7 rebounds 5. Jabari Price-Martin (SG) of Rivas - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Dalton Cacho (200-PF-93) of Brumas - 16 points and 7 rebounds 7. BJ Glasford (196-C-95) of Rivas - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists 8. Justin Miller (198-F-96) of Brumas - 13 points and 14 rebounds 9. Peter Martinez (183-F-96) of Leones MGA - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Akeme Ashton (C) of Ingenieria - 14 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
