Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 17

Dominican Rep. Xavier de la Rosa (196-F-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Cacique D. and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 30-year old forward had the game-high 41 points adding eight rebounds for Cacique D. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Ingenieria (#4, 7-5) 100-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cacique D. was forced-out from the top positions in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cacique D. will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. In the team's last game de la Rosa had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Cacique D.'s top player in his first season with the team. de la Rosa has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 27.5ppg) and averages solid 3.2spg and 51.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was forward Ronald Lawton (F) of Ingenieria. Lawton impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 43 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Ingenieria lost that game 93-100 to slightly higher-ranked Cacique D. (#2, 9-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Ingenieria still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 7-5 record is not bad at all. Lawton is a newcomer at Ingenieria and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.6ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 8.6rpg and 3.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Cacique D.'s star - Jeremy Agosto (F). Agosto got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for twelve assists. He was another key player of Cacique D., helping his team with a 100-93 win against #4 ranked Ingenieria. Cacique D. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 3 lost games. Agosto has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.8ppg (4th best) and assists with 8.9apg (best passer).
