Oliva's 42-point game gives him Player of the Week award- September 22, 2021
He had the game-high 42 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Ingenieria in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Tigres (#9, 0-11) with 32-point margin 110-78. Ingenieria maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Ingenieria will need more victories to improve their 7-5 record. In the team's last game Oliva had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Ingenieria's top player in his first season with the team. Oliva has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 25.7ppg) and assists (3rd best: 5.2apg). Second best performed player last round was Teodoro Romero (C) of Indigenas. He is Dominican Rep. center in his first season at Indigenas. In the last game Romero recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Indigenas lost that game 85-112 to the higher-ranked Brumas (#3, 8-3). Indigenas managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Indigenas managed to get this year. Romero is a newcomer at Indigenas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Timothy Simmons (195-PF-92) of Brumas (#3). Simmons got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and seven assists. He was a key player of Brumas, leading his team to a 112-85 easy win against the lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 2-9). Brumas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 3 lost games. Simmons has a great season in Nicaragua. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.8ppg (8th best) and assists with 4.2apg (7th best). He also has 2.7spg and FGP: 63.6%.
