Ronald Lawton (F) had a very impressive game in the last round for Ingenieria and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The forward had the game-high 36 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Ingenieria in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Indigenas (#8, 2-11) with 35-point margin 123-88. Ingenieria maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Ingenieria will need more victories to improve their 8-6 record. In the team's last game Lawton had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Ingenieria's top player in his first season with the team. Lawton has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 21.9ppg) and averages solid 3.5spg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Dominican Rep. center Teodoro Romero (C) of Indigenas. Romero impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Indigenas lost that game 88-123 to the higher-ranked Ingenieria (#4, 8-6). Indigenas managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Indigenas managed to get this year. Romero is a newcomer at Indigenas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Mauro Guerrero of Tigres (#9). Guerrero scored 18 points and grabbed twenty four rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tigres, leading his team to a 96-95 win against the higher-ranked Cacique D. (#2, 10-5). Tigres can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-13 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Guerrero he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Guerrero has a very solid season. In 4 games in Nicaragua he scored 10.0ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
