Quentin Deshon
American Quentin Davis (199-PF) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Rivas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The power forward had a double-double of 22 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team crushed Tigres (#9, 2-15) with 20-point margin 99-79. Rivas maintains the 5th position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rivas will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. It's Davis' second year at Rivas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Quentin Davis averages this season 14.2ppg and 9.8rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-PG-87) of Ingenieria. Oliva impressed basketball fans with 35 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Ingenieria lost that game 88-95 to slightly lower-ranked Leon (#6, 8-8). Ingenieria managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 10-7 record is not bad at all. Oliva is a newcomer at Ingenieria and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 6.1rpg and 5.3apg.
The third best performed player last round was former international guard Vansdell Thomas (185-G-86) of top-ranked Real Esteli. Thomas got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. Despite Thomas' great performance Real Esteli lost 81-88 to #4 ranked Ingenieria. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Real Esteli needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 5 lost games. Thomas has a very solid season. In 13 games in Nicaragua he scored 12.7ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
