LSB Round 24: Leon defeat Real Esteli

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Real Esteli (12-6) on the court of sixth ranked Leon on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Leon 96-88. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a good game for Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) contributed with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Leon's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International point guard Francisco Garth (195-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for Real Esteli. Leon maintains sixth position with 9-8 record. Real Esteli at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost.
The game between fourth ranked Ingenieria (11-7) and 8th ranked Indigenas (2-14) in ended with biggest points difference. Ingenieria beat guests from Matagalpa 84-75. Worth to mention a quality performance of Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and Ronald Lawton who added 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center James Edmond Jr (203-91, college: Lincoln, MO) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Ingenieria maintains fourth position with 11-7 record. Indigenas lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost.

In the last game of round 24 Leones MGA were beaten by Rivas on the road 88-80.



Rivas - Leones MGA 88-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Rivas' (10-8) home victory over 6th ranked Leones MGA (8-8) 88-80. Rivas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center BJ Glasford (196-95, college: Stetson, agency: Green Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) who added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Rivas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) with a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Brazilian center Andre Coimbra (205-86, college: CMU) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rivas maintains fifth position with 10-8 record. Leones MGA at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost.
