LSB Round 30: Top-ranked Brumas win another game

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

LSB top team - Brumas (16-4) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Indigenas (3-17) in Jinotega 106-64. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Indigenas' 46. Brumas forced 25 Indigenas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Indigenas' players. It was a good game for American center Leon Hampton (213-95, college: Stillman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Romario Ponce (180-95) contributed with 15 points, 14 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Brumas' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican center Teodoro Romero replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for Indigenas. Brumas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-4 record. Indigenas at the other side keep the eighth place with 17 games lost. Brumas are looking forward to face Rivas (#4) in the next round. Indigenas will play against Leones MGA (#6) in Managua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Managua was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Ingenieria (11-11) played at the court of seventh ranked Leones MGA (10-8). Leones MGA managed to secure a 4-point victory 80-76. American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Cameron Lard chipped in 7 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Leones MGA's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Puerto Rican forward Felix Rivera-Vega (201-97, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Paris Global Sports) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. Leones MGA moved-up to sixth place. Ingenieria lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Leones MGA will play against Indigenas (#8) in Matagalpa in the next round. Ingenieria will play at home against the league's second-placed Cacique D. and hopes to get back on the winning track.



Leones MGA - Ingenieria 80-76

Leones MGA made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Leones MGA outrebounded Ingenieria 47-36 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 7 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest.
