Brumas - Real Esteli 71-95 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Brumas (3-1) in Jinotega on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Real Esteli (3-0) 95-71. Real Esteli outrebounded Brumas 53-37 including a 42-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Puerto Rican guard Ismael Cruz (190-2001, college: Indian Hills) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Alonso Ortiz contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) answered with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Brumas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Esteli are looking forward to face Leon (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Josmel Martinez (198, college: Broward CC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Puerto Rican point guard Luis Gonzalez (183-1997, college: PR-Bayamon) accounted for 24 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
