Jaguares - Rivas 86-68 Second ranked Jaguares (14-4) crushed at home 10th ranked Rivas (2-15) by 18 points 86-68, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) fired 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Leon Hampton (213-1995, college: Stillman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Jaguares players scored in double figures. American forward Telvin Gabriel (198-1994, college: Lander) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Cuban Yosniel Morales (196-1987) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Third ranked host Brumas (13-5) defeated 4th placed UNI Basket (10-8) 82-77. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. The former international Dayton Cacho (186-1991) helped adding 30 points. At the losing side American center Scott Sill (206-1992, college: Delaware St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Puerto Rican guard Brian Vazquez (190-1994) scored 23 points and 4 assists. Five UNI Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brumas have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Real Esteli. UNI Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Indigenas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Leon's 32. They outrebounded Leon 51-38 including 33 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican power forward Teodoro Romero (202-1990) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds.
