De Jesus' double-double lands him Player of the Week award- October 9, 2022
He got a double-double of 29 points and 10 assists, while his team crushed Leon (#7, 8-13) with 17-point margin 89-72. It allowed Real Esteli to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan league. Real Esteli has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 21-1. In the team's last game De Jesus had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Real Esteli's top player in his first season with the team. Jezreel De Jesus averages this season 17.4ppg, 5.5rpg and 7.7apg. Second best performed player last round was Deikel Sanchez (G) of Occidentales. He is a guard in his first season at Occidentales. In the last game Sanchez recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds. It was enough for Occidentales to edge slightly lower-ranked Rivas (#10, 3-18) by 2 points 77-75. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Occidentales keeps 9th position. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Occidentales managed to get this year. Sanchez is a newcomer at Occidentales and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#8). He also registered 10.7 boards per game. Third place about best performers goes to guard Chris Moten (190-G-1989) of Indigenas (#8). Moten got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. He was a key player of Indigenas, leading his team to a 92-90 win against the higher-ranked Jaguares (#2, 16-6). Indigenas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Moten has a very solid season. In 2 games in Nicaragua he scored 34.0ppg.
