Brumas - Occidentales 98-62 The game between third ranked Brumas (17-7) and 9th ranked Occidentales (5-19) in Jinotega on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Brumas outscored guests from Chinandega 98-62. Brumas forced 20 Occidentales turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Occidentales' players. It was a good game for Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists. Dominican center Jose Familia (201-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Guard Deikel Sanchez answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Puerto Rican-American guard Robert Nieves (188-1999, college: Graceland) added 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Occidentales. Brumas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Occidentales at the other side keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. Leon made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Rivas turnovers. It was a good game for Puerto Rican guard Antonio Ralat (188, college: UAB) who led his team to a victory with 30 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Puerto Rican forward Melvin Millet (193-2000) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Leon's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban Yosniel Morales (196-1987) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Telvin Gabriel (198-1994, college: Lander) added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Leon maintains seventh place with 10-13 record. Rivas lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
