Leones MGA - Jaguares 89-94 The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua: Jaguares (#3) and Leones MGA (#6). Leones MGA was defeated at home 89-94 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Jaguares outrebounded Leones MGA 51-38 including 37 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American center Leon Hampton (213-1995, college: Stillman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 23 rebounds for the winners. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Puerto Rican point guard Luis Gonzalez (183-1997, college: PR-Bayamon) replied with 54 points (!!!) and American forward Josmel Martinez (198, college: Broward CC) added 10 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Leones MGA. Leones MGA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jaguares maintains third position with 18-8 record having seven points less than leader Real Esteli.
