Indigenas - Caribbean Coast 89-120 LSB top team - Caribbean Coast (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Indigenas (0-4) in Matagalpa 120-89. Caribbean Coast had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Indigenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-1992) contributed with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) added 25 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Indigenas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caribbean Coast have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Indigenas at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Rivas. Jaguares smashed UNI Basket 87-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UNI Basket. Jaguares made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 UNI Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Puerto Rican power forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (209-1990, college: UNLV) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winners and American Joel Kindred (193-1991, college: St.Augustine) chipped in 23 points and 10 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Robert Nieves (186-1999, college: Graceland) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Brandon Wilson (-1995) scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Leones. UNI Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Brumas.
