Honduran Forward Nelly Rapalo (173-F-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Real Esteli, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while her team outclassed Tipitapa (#5, 1-3) with 35-point margin 85-50. Real Esteli is placed at 2nd position in Nicaraguan LSBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Real Esteli will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Rapalo had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She turned to be Real Esteli's top player in her first season with the team. Nelly Rapalo has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.3ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.3rpg), assists (2nd best: 6.0apg) and averages impressive 2.3spg and 51.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jessica Marino (G-2000) of Leonas. Marino had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Leonas cruised to a 88-81 relatively comfortable win over UNI (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Marino is a newcomer at Leonas, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#5). She also registered 11.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-G/F-1993) of UNI (#4). Bannister got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. She went also for five rebounds and ten assists. Despite Bannister's great performance UNI lost 81-88 to #3 ranked Leonas. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of UNI not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Bannister could try to bring UNI's a little bit higher in the standings. Bannister has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.0ppg (3rd best) and assists with 8.7apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jocelyn Taylor (183-G-1997) of Leonas - 33 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Shannen Peralta (F-2003) of Tipitapa - 28 points and 12 rebounds
6. Sharen Sambola (185-PF-2006) of UNI - 9 points and 12 rebounds
7. Leisha Hodgson (180-PF-2007) of Leonas - 10 points and 14 rebounds
8. Janae Barnes (183-G-1995) of Real Esteli - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Clenia Salazar (F-1987) of Tipitapa - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Shaneel Antonio (F-2005) of Tipitapa - 5 points and 6 rebounds
