Best players of Nicaraguan LSBF round 3 (by Hoops Agents)- September 4, 2023
The 30-year old swingman had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for UNI as her team lost the game against the league's best team Jaguares (#1, 5-0) 56-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. UNI is placed at 3rd position in Nicaraguan LSBF. UNI is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 3rd lost game this season out of 5 games. In the team's last game Bannister had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. She turned to be UNI's top player in her first season with the team. East Carolina University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bannister is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.0ppg and is league's best passer with 8.8apg. Bannister is in league's top in and averages solid 3.6spg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American swingman Jessica Fairweather (180-G/F-1990) of league's best team Jaguares. Fairweather impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 10 assists. Of course Jaguares cruised to a 80-73 relatively comfortable win over Tipitapa (1-4). A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 5 games without any defeat. Fairweather is a newcomer at Jaguares and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#7). Her other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 6.2apg. The third best performed player last round was another Jaguares' star - American D'Asia Chambers (182-G/F-1992). Chambers showcased her all-around game by recording 22 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. She was another key player of Jaguares, helping her team with a 80-73 win against Tipitapa (#5, 1-4). Jaguares started extremely well this year. They recorded 5 victories without losing a single game. Chambers turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Chambers has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 8.6rpg (6th best) and assists with 4.4apg (6th best). Shannen Peralta (F-2003) of Tipitapa - 13 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists 7. Janae Barnes (183-G-1995) of Real Esteli - 19 points and 10 rebounds 8. Clenia Salazar (F-1987) of Tipitapa - 11 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists 9. Brittany Arellano (SG-2002) of Tipitapa - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists 10.
