LSBF Round 5: UNI lose to Jaguares in the game between Top 4 teams

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LSBF. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Very significant was Jaguares' (#1, 6-0) victory against 3rd placed UNI (2-5) 62-49. Jaguares dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UNI's 26. Jaguares forced 21 UNI turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Sofia Alfaro (-2003) stepped up and scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Nahomy Alvarez (-2004) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) responded with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. UNI at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Jaguares are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leonas (#5) in the next round. UNI will have a break next round.
The game in was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Real Esteli (5-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Leonas (1-6). Real Esteli defeated Leonas 86-73. Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) nailed 20 points and 9 assists for the winning side and Anahya Hodgson accounted for 9 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Jocelyn Taylor (183-1997, college: SEMO) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for Leonas in the defeat. Leonas' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Real Esteli have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Jaguares. Leonas lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Real Esteli will play against Tipitapa (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Leonas will play against the league's leader Jaguares to get more than just one victory in their record.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 16 points and 8 rebounds by Janae Barnes of Real Esteli.
