LSBF Round 6: Leonas hand first defeat to Jaguares

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Jaguares (6-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fifth ranked Leonas on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Leonas 69-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jaguares. Leonas forced 21 Jaguares turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Jocelyn Taylor (183-1997, college: SEMO) who scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Jessica Marino (-2000) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Leonas' coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Leonas maintains fifth position with 2-6 record. Jaguares at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Leonas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .

Shannen Peralta contributed with 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Tipitapa's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Real Esteli. Tipitapa maintains third position with 3-4 record having just three points less than leader Jaguares. Defending champion Real Esteli keeps the second place with two games lost. Tipitapa will play against UNI (#4) in the next round. Real Esteli will play against the league's leader Jaguares and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
