Fairweather's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- September 15, 202333-year old swingman Jessica Fairweather (180-G/F-1990) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Jaguares and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
She had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat Real Esteli (#2, 6-3) 64-55. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Jaguares to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan LSBF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Jaguares has a very solid 7-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Fairweather turned to be Jaguares' top player in her first season with the team. Queens College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fairweather is in league's top in points (8th best: 13.3ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.9rpg) and assists (3rd best: 6.1apg). Second best performed player last round was Shannen Peralta (F-2003) of Tipitapa. She is international forward in her first season at Tipitapa. In the last game Peralta recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she led Tipitapa to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked UNI (#4, 2-6) 70-41. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tipitapa consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 5-4 record is not bad at all. Peralta is a newcomer at Tipitapa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#5). She also registered 13.7 boards per game. Third place about best performers goes to another Tipitapa's star - forward Shaneel Antonio (F-2005). Antonio scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was another key player of Tipitapa, helping her team with a 70-41 easy win against #4 ranked UNI. Tipitapa needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Antonio has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 2.7apg (9th best). She also has 2.6spg and FGP: 54.4%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Clenia Salazar (F-1987) of Tipitapa - 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists 5. D'Asia Chambers (182-G/F-1992) of Jaguares - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Reyna Lopez (G-2002) of Jaguares - 5 points and 8 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
