LSBF Round 13 (Regular Season): Tipitapa defeat Jaguares

 Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Jaguares (9-4) in Managua on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Tipitapa (9-4) 84-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jaguares. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tipitapa forced 22 Jaguares turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Jaguares helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Clenia Salazar (-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 21 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for Jaguares. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tipitapa have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Jaguares.

American guard Jocelyn Taylor (183-1997, college: SEMO) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Jessica Martino chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leonas maintains fourth place with 4-9 record. UNI lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost.
