The game between second ranked Jaguares (9-5) and fifth ranked UNI (3-12) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Jaguares were defeated by UNI in a tough game in Managua 60-65. The best player for the winners was Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) who scored 32 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). point guard Nahomy Castillo (165-2007) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Linda Patterson who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Jaguares' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UNI maintains fifth place with 3-12 record. Jaguares at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. UNI will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jaguares will play against Leonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
