Fifth defeat of league's leader Real Esteli (10-5) against second ranked Tipitapa (11-4) 89-88 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Real Esteli. It was a key game for the top position in the league. 25 personal fouls committed by Real Esteli helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Clenia Salazar (-1987) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) contributed with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 assists for Real Esteli. Tipitapa have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Real Esteli dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tipitapa. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Jaguares (9-6) against fourth ranked Leonas (5-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Jaguares were defeated by Leonas in a tough game on the road 62-70. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jocelyn Taylor (183-1997, college: SEMO) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Jessica Martino who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Leonas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Andrea Suarez (-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Leonas maintains fourth position with 5-11 record. Jaguares lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost.
