Salazar's 42-point game gives her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

36-year old forward Clenia Salazar (F-1987) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Tipitapa and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
She had the game-high 42 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Tipitapa in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Real Esteli (#2, 10-5) 89-88. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tipitapa to take over top position in the Nicaraguan LSBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tipitapa has a very solid 11-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Salazar had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 13 attempts. It's her second year at Tipitapa and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Salazar has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.3rpg), assists (5th best: 4.2apg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Shannen Peralta (F-2003). She is international forward in her first season at Tipitapa. In the last game Peralta recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Tipitapa to edge slightly lower-ranked Real Esteli (#2, 10-5) by 1 point 89-88. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tipitapa consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. Her team has currently 11-4 record. Peralta is a newcomer at Tipitapa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#7). She also registered 12.6 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tipitapa's star - guard Tiffany Reynolds (175-G). Reynolds showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the last round. She was another key player of Tipitapa, helping her team with a 89-88 win against #2 ranked Real Esteli. Tipitapa confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 4 lost games. Reynolds has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (5th best), rebounds with 8.6rpg (7th best) and assists with 3.6apg (7th best).
