LSB Round 22 (Regular Season): Brumas beat Leones in the most crucial game of the week

The Regular Season in LSB is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jinotega. Second ranked Brumas faced 4th ranked Leones. Host Brumas (15-4) defeated guests from Managua (13-6) 82-66. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 17 assists for the winners. Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) chipped in 25 points. Colombian center Chyse Webster (204-2000) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brumas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Caribbean Coast. Leones at the other side keep the fourth place with six games lost. Brumas is looking forward to face UNI Basket (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leones will play against Indigenas (#7) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

Rivas will play at home against the league's leader Caribbean Coast and hope to get back on the winning track.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Tigres' (2-16) home loss to eighth ranked UNI Basket (5-13) 62-73. It was a very good performance for American forward Tyler Morman (206-1997, college: Southern Miss) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Robert Nieves (186-1999, college: Graceland) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five UNI Basket players scored in double figures.
