Ninth-ranked Tigres (3-22) made lots of trouble for first ranked Caribbean Coast (22-4) on Monday. The visitors from Managua managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-1995) chipped in 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Caribbean Coast's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Puerto Rican Antonio Gordon (206-2001, college: Oklah.Christian) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Caribbean Coast have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-4 record. Tigres lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 22 games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in . Second ranked Brumas faced 4th placed Leon. Guests from Jinotega (21-5) smashed host Leon (17-8) 100-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leon. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Timothy Simmons contributed with 18 points, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Leon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Brumas. They maintain second place with 21-5 record behind leader Caribbean Coast. Leon at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost.

Jaguares maintains sixth place with 11-15 record. Rivas lost their fifteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games.

In the last game of round 31 Indigenas were crushed by Real Esteli in a road game 99-79.

The game with biggest result difference took place in Managua. Local Jaguares (11-15) outscored 10th ranked Rivas (2-23) 109-54 on Monday night. Jaguares dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Rivas' 40. Jaguares forced 23 Rivas turnovers and outrebounded them 53-25 including a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jaguares looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Rivas' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Argentinian forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Puerto Rican forward Felix Rivera-Vega (201-1997, college: Georgetown, KY) helped adding 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Jaguares players scored in double figures. There was no surprise when 7th ranked Indigenas (8-18) were crushed on the road by third ranked Real Esteli (20-6) 99-79 on Monday. Real Esteli outrebounded Indigenas 42-26 including 31 on the offensive glass. Real Esteli looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Jared Ruiz (188-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Jasiel Perez helped adding 23 points. Real Esteli's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) responded with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American guard Chris Moten-Jackson (190-1989, college: LA Pierce JC) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Five Real Esteli and four Indigenas players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Real Esteli. They maintain third place with 20-6 record having just two points less than leader Caribbean Coast. Loser Indigenas keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with UNI Basket.
