There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in LSB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 32 in the LSB took place in Jinotega. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-ranked Brumas (21-6) to sixth ranked Jaguares (12-15) 89-86 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Brumas. 25 personal fouls committed by Brumas helped the opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Puerto Rican forward Felix Rivera-Vega (201-1997, college: Georgetown, KY) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. James Jones contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds for Brumas. Jaguares maintains sixth position with 12-15 record. Brumas at the other side keep the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Real Esteli.
The game in Managua was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Leon (17-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Leones (17-9). Leones defeated Leon 87-76. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and Josh Colon-Navarro who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) responded with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Leon. Leones will play against Tigres (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Leon will play against the league's leader Caribbean Coast (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between 10th ranked Rivas (2-24) and third ranked Real Esteli (21-6) in on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Esteli outscored Rivas 133-67. The winners were led by Jared Ruiz who scored that evening 30 points and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Real Esteli's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by Kelvin Rivera did not help to save the game for Rivas. Real Esteli have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Brumas. Rivas lost their sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Real Esteli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rivas will play against Indigenas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 32 Tigres were beaten by UNI Basket on the road 79-73.
