Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-1983, college: Chicago St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Jared Ruiz (188-1992) who recorded 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and the former international swingman Francisco Garth (195-1999) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.

Leon - Caribbean Coast 74-92

Caribbean Coast dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Leon's 36. Caribbean Coast forced 20 Leon turnovers and outrebounded them 49-35 including 31 on the offensive glass. Caribbean Coast players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-1995) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Caribbean Coast players scored in double figures. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) answered with 22 points and the former international guard Vansdell Thomas (185-1986) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leon. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
