Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Caribbean Coast's 20. They outrebounded Caribbean Coast 51-33 including a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) who scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-1983, college: Chicago St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-1992) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) added 17 points and 7 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
