Best players of Nicaraguan TBN round 3

Yassir Cruz (G-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Golden B Hurricane and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 24-year old guard had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Leon (#20, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 70-65. Hurricane maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan TBN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Hurricane will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Cruz had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Hurricane, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cruz has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.5ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 60.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Elgin Mejia (C/F-2001) of UNAN de Managua. Mejia impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led UNAN de to another comfortable win outscoring Alcaldia Alma (0-5) 98-43. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Mejia is one of the most experienced players at UNAN de and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Michael Lampson of Jass de Managua (#14). Lampson scored 10 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Jass, leading his team to a 59-49 win against Bonanza (2-2). Jass needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Lampson has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (6th best).
