The most surprising game was the first loss of Real Esteli (4-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Jass (3-3) 62-56. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Real Esteli. 27 personal fouls committed by Real Esteli helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Michael Lampson stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Sergio Tenorio chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Deo Downs (-2006) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Real Esteli's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jass moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hurricane. Real Esteli at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Matagalpa. Seventh ranked San Isidro (4-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed UNAN de (4-2) 76-74 in the game for the fourth place. Esmilder Rojas (187-1985) nailed 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Dwight Real accounted for 22 points and 8 assists. San Isidro's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Kenny Urtecho came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for UNAN de in the defeat. San Isidro moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UNAN de.

The best player for the winners was Hensher Hebbert who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 24 rebounds. Yassir Cruz produced 27 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. San Judas moved-up to sixth place. Loser Hurricane dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Jass.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 5: Bonanza was destroyed by UNAN de on the opponent's court 77-56. Winless Leon unfortunately lost to Sebaco in a home game 83-98. Tigres recorded a loss to Carazo on the road 67-72. Indigenas crushed Leones on its own court 99-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points, 5 assists and 6 steals by Johnston Huerta of Indigenas.



UNAN de M. - Bonanza 77-56

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Bonanza's (2-4) road loss to thirteenth ranked UNAN de (3-2) 56-77 on Sunday. UNAN de forced 34 Bonanza turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UNAN de made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was power forward Elgin Mejia (-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Jordan Ramirez (178) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sebaco looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Leon's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard David Toruno (-1992) who scored 22 points. Jeedlaff Zeledon chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sebaco players scored in double figures. Carlos Valdivia produced 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Cristopher Vargas Peralta added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sebaco moved-up to seventh place. Loser Leon still closes the standings with six games lost.
