Castaneda number one in Nicaraguan TBN for round 5

Forward Sydney Castaneda (187-F) had a very impressive game in the last round for La Libertad, receiving a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 5.
The player had a double-double of 42 points and 19 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Alcaldia Alma (#21, 0-7) with 52-point margin 124-72. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. La Libertad is placed at 13th position in Nicaraguan TBN. La Libertad is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. Castaneda turned to be La Libertad's top player in his first season with the team. Sydney Castaneda has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.5ppg), rebounds (5th best: 10.8rpg) and averages impressive 71.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Hensher Hebbert of San Judas. Hebbert had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 24 rebounds. It was enough for San Judas to edge the lower-ranked Hurricane (#10, 3-3) 75-70. This victory allowed San Judas to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hebbert is a newcomer at San Judas and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was another La Libertad's star - guard Erling Lopez (SG-1994). Lopez got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds and six assists. He was another key player of La Libertad, helping his team with a 124-72 easy win against Alcaldia Alma (#21, 0-7). La Libertad needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Lopez has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.3ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.3apg (7th best).
