Sydney Castaneda was the best scorer of the day yesterday in the world with the 42 points he had in the second division in Nicaragua called the TBN.

42 points scored by forward Sydney Castaneda (187-F) made him the highest scoring player of the day in the world. His team La Libertad beat the Alcaldia Alma 124 to 72. He also added 19 rebounds and 3 assists that evening. Castaneda is the 3rd best scorer in the league averaging over 23 points and almost 11 rebounds per game.
He started his career in 2006 playing for Aguilas Red Nicarao in the ACB league and played for II years after this. Castaneda then begun playing for La Libertad just last season and has quickly risen the starting five for this year. He was also awarded Player of the Week in the Nicaraguan TBN.
