Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua: San Judas (#6) and Jass (#8). San Judas (6-3) smashed visiting Jass (4-4) by 23 points 74-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jass. San Judas held Jass to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Jass 49-28 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Daniel Tenorio (177-1990) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hensher Hebbert contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. San Judas' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Michael Lampson replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for Jass. San Judas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Jass at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Carazo and Hurricane.
Alcaldia Alma's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Leon (0-8) 77-64. Worth to mention a great performance of Jaymar Hodgson who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and Eliezer Lopez who added 13 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Alcaldia Alma's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Australian guard Joel Wagner (181-1987) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Alcaldia Alma (1-8) left bottom position moving up to nineteenth place. It was Leon's eighth loss in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost.
Top-ranked Tipitapa blasted bottom-ranked Sur Rivas (0-5) in Rivas 112-76 on Sunday evening keeping the perfect record after 8 rounds. Sur Rivas is still unable to win any game. The winners were led by Alejandro Urbina who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Even 28 points by Luis Urbina did not help to save the game for Sur Rivas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Tipitapa (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row behind leader Jaguares. Loser Sur Rivas still closes the standings with five games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: La Libertad was beaten by Sebaco on the road 87-82. Leones destroyed San Isidro on its own court 97-73. UNAN de was outscored by Hurricane in Managua 94-55. Brumas managed to beat Tigres at home 89-75. Real Esteli was defeated by Carazo on the opponent's court 84-82.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 15 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists by Armando Martinez of Carazo.



Sebaco - La Libertad 87-82

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Sebaco (5-1) beat 12th ranked La Libertad (3-3) in Matagalpa 87-82 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by Erick Mairena (-2004) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 assists and 4 steals and Jeedlaff Zeledon supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Sebaco's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 30 points by forward Kevin Leiva did not help to save the game for La Libertad. Erling Lopez (-1994) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sebaco have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser La Libertad keeps the twelfth position with three games lost.

There was an upset when higher ranked San Isidro (5-3) was smashed by seventeenth ranked Leones (3-5) in Managua 97-73 on Sunday. Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to San Isidro's 28. They outrebounded San Isidro 45-26 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Caleb Lara (-2006) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists and guard Darwell Lopez (-2003) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Even 28 points by Esmilder Rojas (187-1985) did not help to save the game for San Isidro. The former international Dwight Real (-1997) added 3 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the guests.
