30-year old power forward Dalton Cacho (200-PF-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Brumas de Jinotega and receives a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Tigres (#13, 3-4) 89-75. Brumas is placed at 4th position in Nicaraguan TBN. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Brumas already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Cacho had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Brumas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Cacho has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.5ppg), assists (5th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 2.3spg and 65.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Yassir Cruz (G-1999) of Golden B Hurricane. He is a guard in his first season at Hurricane. In the last game Cruz recorded an impressive 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Hurricane to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked UNAN de M. (#14, 3-4) 94-55. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Hurricane managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Cruz is one of the most experienced players at Hurricane and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.4ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 3.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Erick Mairena (PF-2004) of Sebaco (#5). Mairena scored 22 points and passed 12 assists (!!!). He was a key player of Sebaco, leading his team to a 87-82 win against the lower-ranked La Libertad (#12, 3-3). Sebaco is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Mairena has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 10.7ppg (8th best), rebounds with 4.5rpg (8th best) and assists with 5.0apg (4th best).
